Storyline
After its victory over Leonidas' 300, the Persian Army under the command of Xerxes marches towards the major Greek city-states. The Democratic city of Athens, first on the path of Xerxes' army, bases its strength on its fleet, led by admiral Themistocles. Is it a prequel? A sequel? Yes it's both. And also a Greekquel. A lot has changed since 300 was released: Gerard Butler's career has waxed and waned and neither Lena Headey nor Michael Fassbender were well known (crazy that this was Fassenbender's first role) -- the iPhone hadn't even been introduced yet, Watch 300: Rise of an Empire megashareremarkably. Review: In this movie, some new historical characters are introduced. Artemisia of Caria (Eva Green) has been neglected so far but in 300: Rise of an Empire, this colorful female Persian general comes with full colors.
The trailer shows that there will be scope for some character development. This part of historical movies is often neglected and we hope it will be taken care of in the movie. There is the story of how Xerxes developed himself into that position of strength.
